Angelica Diaz, Associate Therapist
Hi there! My name is Angelica Diaz, I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I grew up in the Inland Empire, and I am a first-generation daughter of immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico.
I graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Spanish. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University’s Aliento Program, which emphasizes the specific mental health needs of Latinx communities, as well as the resilience and strengths of our communities.
Before working in mental health, I worked in higher education, supporting students with disabilities at two California Community Colleges and supporting first-generation students in overcoming obstacles at a 4-year university. These experiences inform my work now as a mental health therapist.
I provide culturally affirming and neuro-affirming care, and I specialize in working with late-diagnosed ADHD and Autistic adults. I have supported individuals with academic burnout, first-generation stress, and navigating college with a disability. I also provide neuro-affirming care for Latinx late-diagnosed ADHD and Autistic adults. Additionally, I have supported families, children, and teens navigating life transitions, grief, and anxiety. I am passionate about incorporating ancestral medicine into my approaches, honoring the resilience of our families and ancestors. I believe it is essential to reclaim the wisdom of our abuelitas. My therapeutic approaches include DBT, EFT, narrative, and mindfulness. I believe it is important to co-create a space with my clients, one where we collaborate to achieve healing.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy taking long walks with my Berne doodle, Dexter, camping with my husband, experiencing live music, and working out.
