about the agency
Divina Family Counseling Services Inc. was created on the premise that with strength, love, and courage, we can achieve a fulfilling and authentic life. We often become confused, sad, fearful, resentful, guilty, angry, shameful, and even hateful when things get difficult. In the midst of hardships and adversities, Divina hopes to help you untangle the overflow of thoughts and emotions to understand that pain can lead to fulfillment.
We use a Faith-Based Perspective where our beliefs are not forced on anyone. Divina believes God knows your pain and hardships long before you get to us. Therefore, he works through us to help fill you with strength, love, and courage.
Whether you seek to help yourself or a loved one, Divina Family Counseling Services Inc. is here to help you find a fulfilling and authentic life!
about the owner
Lori Ayala
It is a pleasure and joy to introduce myself as a therapist and CEO/Founder of DIVINA Family Counseling Services Inc. I am a first-generation Mexican-American. My parents are from the beautiful land of Mexico! Being Mexican is a big part of my identity; although I was born and raised in California, Mexico runs through my veins.
I attended UCR for my bachelor's and the University of Phoenix-Ontario Campus for my Master’s. I have been in the Mental Health field for almost ten years and have been Licensed for two years. My credentials are in Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) and Associate in Marriage Family Therapy (AMFT)— I am working towards my licensure for my MFT.
My experience has been with families, adults, children, and adolescents, all with various challenges and situations. I hold a soft spot for teens; their tenacity and resilience warms my heart. I work from a psychodynamic lens, with attachment often my go-to approach, focusing on childhood patterns and how they present themselves in our present lives. For those who don't like diving in too deep, a solution-focused approach works well to focus on current presenting issues.
Lastly, God has been a big part of my life; therefore, I share his great work with my clients. I use a biblical perspective to help understand mental health and break the stigma that if you are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, “you are not walking with God.” Needless to say, I respect your beliefs and avoid imposing my faith on others.
LPCC #12737, AMFT #118946
My goal is to serve mi gente. We come from a long line of "echale ganas," but don't stir the pot. This can be both confusing and exhausting. I help individuals heal generational trauma and childhood wounds. Healing these traumas and wounds will allow not only individuals but generations to live authentic lives. A life rich in confidence, culture, and abundance.
